Get Better, Quicker: The Proactive Kinetics Advantage

With so much information available, we find ourselves trying to figure things out for ourselves. For many situations, this makes sense—make a blog, replace an electric outlet, or fix the weather stripping on your doors. Some things are solved with a Google search or a YouTube video when the cost, risk, and time to learn or do the skill are low.

But what about more complex things that require more knowledge or experience? How often do you find yourself spending 5 hours to do something an expert could do in 30 minutes?

Your time is valuable. When you consider how much your time is worth, figuring out a complex solution isn't worth the time you spend researching, doing, and repeating until you get the results you want.

We educate our clients about this. There's a lot of how-to material on self-managing injuries, but there is also a lot of garbage material out there. Filtering the information specific to your situation takes a lot of time. While you're sifting through the search results, your pain isn't getting any better.

Instead of going to a traditional PT clinic and the disruption it creates to your schedule, Dr. Samantha comes to you. She found that the restrictions of traditional PT Clinics cost clients a lot of time because she was required to spend less one-on-one time with them. Save time compared to traditional clinics.

A typical visit at a PT Clinic is 60 minutes. They ask you to get there 10 to 15 minutes early. Because they are so busy, the physical therapist is running behind and pulling you back 5 to 10 minutes late. They then give you warm-up exercises followed by treatment exercises. You're supervised by someone who isn't your physical therapist while they go and work on someone else. After 30 minutes of exercise, the physical therapist gets you on the table. They'll do manual therapy and discuss your condition changes for about 15 to 20 minutes. You then get put on electric stim and a hot or cold pack for 10 minutes. Finally, you're done and headed home.

The time you spend at the clinic is somewhere around 80 to 90 minutes. Now add your drive time—15 minutes each way is very common—and the total time away from your life equals 115 minutes.

You spent nearly 2 hours away from your work to get 15 minutes. Now you'll do that twice a week, at least for a month. At the end of the month, you probably need more visits to not only recover but rebuild and prevent the injury — very few people will do this and end up back at physical therapy.
